100 years of Student Life: Information Sheet

100 Years of Student Life

The 100 Years of Student Life project forms part of the 8 week MA Museum Studies work placement at the University of Leicester. The placement builds upon work completed as part of the MA’s Heritage Specialism module and is intended to compliment the University’s centenary preparations and the National Lottery Heritage Funded project titled ‘So that they may have life’.

Campus Walking Tour

One output of the 100 Years of Student Life project is the creation of a Campus Walking Tour, using the app Clio.

The app includes a map of the University campus in which users can undertake a self-guided tour. University buildings which feature on the app will include a brief overview of the building’s history and the opportunity to listen to embedded audio clips which provide a student experience of working or living in a specific building. The audio clips will act as anecdotes offering a variety of recollections of student life during up to and including 2020.  All audio clips will be accompanied by a transcript accessible through the app.
