Volunteering

As the project has now ended we are no longer recruiting new volunteers.

During So that they may have life 28 volunteers completed 1,371 hours of volunteering activity. Our archive volunteers created 656 new metadata records for our University Archive photograph collection. Based on this work, they produced the fascinating online exhibition, Every Picture Tells a Story. Working with Dr Yewande Okuleye our team of volunteer researchers produced the exhibition, Stories from the University Archives and starred in a series of videos available to view on YouTube produced by Owen Tooth from Toothpix Ltd.

In addition to our community volunteering programme, a team of 12 students from the School of Museum Studies completed 8 week work placements with us contributing 2808 hours of time to the project. The results of their work can be found on the So that they may have life online exhibitions page.

Thank you to all of the volunteers and students who have contributed to our work over the last year. We couldn’t have done it without you!
